If properly managed, short trips and adventures can be just as fulfilling as longer extended travels. A recent trip to Philadelphia and Antietam, Maryland demonstrated that thought rather well. With only five days of travel afforded to us we had to make each day count. A few of the historic sites we took in were pretty informative. The first being the Liberty Bell, which was originally named the State House Bell. In addition to, Independence Hall, the final resting place of Benjamin Franklin and the Betsy Ross House were a few of the other high points of Philadelphia.
After leaving Philadelphia we made our way to the Civil War Battlefield of Antietam. On these grounds the bloodiest day of battle in American history took place in September of 1862. This hallowed ground was a remarkable example of the Cost For Freedom.
