A nice little breakout from the snow brought us to a change in scenery for a handful of days. The decision to make Las Vegas our focal point worked out rather well. Getting up early was the key to success in order to see the wildlife and spectacular views. Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Zion National Park held our interest for the first few days. On our last full day we made a day trip through Death Valley National Park to experience that territory during a cooler time of the year. Not really knowing what to expect, we arrived home with a healthy feeling of fulfillment.
